Q – I am using a laptop for my office work and I have a desktop at home. In both the devices, I am using Outlook. I am getting synchronization issue of emails between Laptop and desktop. When I access emails at an office, I got OST file here and when I access emails at home, all my emails get downloaded from server to PST file and then I see that all my emails from laptop have gone. In this case, I am unable my emails again in the laptop. Can anybody tell me how to sync laptop and desktop to access my emails?

Hi, I read your query and unable to understand your issue. Can you please tell me what you want to do with your emails and what issue you are facing?

Simone

My issue is when I access PST files at home. They are visible to me but when I see them to my office laptop, I didn’t get them. So how can I access my emails?

Richard

OST file is generated when you configure your account in Outlook with IMAP and PST file is generated when you configure Outlook with POP3. PST file can’t be synced with OST as PST stores all data locally but OST file needs an active internet connection to sync with Exchange Server. Whatever changes you create with OST file are automatically updated at Exchange Server.

Ok, thank you for the suggestion but still, I am unable to get a solution to my problem.

Meagan

You can do one thing, you can simply configure your email account with a single protocol either POP3 or IMAP. This will help you to resolve your issue.

If you are still facing issues with your OST files, you can go for a third-party solution to export OST files to PST file format using Softaken OST to PST Converter. The application will help you to access your OST file in PST format with few simple steps.
