Don’t panic, just calm down. I am providing the solution to your problem. First of all, make sure your computer system is working properly. Maybe there are some viruses contained in your system that are unable to access the pen drive to our system. Scan your whole system through an antivirus program and try to plug the pen drive to another system. The other system may probably recognize the pen drive.

It may be possible that your pen drive contains some bugs that are unable to show the pen drive to your system. Scan your whole pen drive before copying its data. This will remove the bugs from your pen drive. I hope you will be able to access your pen drive now.

You can plugin the pen drive and open Run dialog box

  • In run, type devmgmt.msc to go to device manager
  • In device manager, go to Universal serial bus controllers
  • Right click the pen drive and click uninstall
  • Remove the pen drive and restart your system
  • Try connecting the pen drive again

You can scan the pen drive, you may be able to preview some recoverable files. Select the files you want an click on Recover button to get them back. Later on, you can format the pen drive. For this, follow the steps –

  • Click Start and go to Control Panel
  • Click Administrative Tools and click Computer management
  • Click on Disk management and find the device in the drive viewer
  • Right click the USB and select format. The pen drive is now in its reusable form.

I followed the above steps; the drive is not showing disk management. Can you please tell me any other solution?

If the drive is not showing up in disk management, there are probable chances that you are dealing with a hardware problem. Now check whether the port has some issues or the pen drive itself. You will find the correct issue and then act accordingly.

If none of the methods work for you, you can use EaseUS disk data recovery to retrieve your important data from your pen drive. So that, later on, you can format the pen drive and scan it completely to use it again in a safe manner.
